With an international company of dancers, the tour will present acclaimed works including the revival of Kenneth MacMillan’s 1972 one-act ballet Ballade unseen in Europe for over fifty years, and a new commission by Olivier Award winner Arielle Smith.
Prior to its season at Sadler’s Wells, the inaugural 2024 tour will pay homage to the company’s early beginnings and will shine a bright light on a new legacy.
Formerly the resident company of Sadler’s Wells, and internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading dance collectives, the prolific touring company was famously patronised by Diana, Princess of Wales, before finally closing its doors in 1996. New Artistic Director, Christopher Marney (Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures) has spent over a year constructing the company with historical insights from London City’ Ballet’s former staff and performers.
