This exhibition takes as its title the rate of limestone extraction in North East Somerset. Cornford’s work considers the relationship between technology and landscape, how landscapes become technologised as infrastructures for industry. By combining timelapse videos of disused quarries across the South West with satellite images of phytoplankton blooms in the Arctic Ocean, this new installation addresses the impact of human activity on the planetary carbon cycle.
