Come and join Charles Condomine and his second wife, Ruth, at a dinner party for their friends, Dr. and Mrs. Bradman. In order to gain an insight into the art of the occult for his next novel, the invitation is extended, much to the amusement of the four friends, to a locally known eccentric medium, Madame Arcati who, as part of the evening’s entertainment, will conduct a seance.
The seance (somewhat unexpectedly, even to Arcati) conjures up the spirit of Elvira, Charles’s first wife who died seven years earlier. Only visible to Charles, Elvira takes great pleasure in the power she has to cause confusion in his new marriage. Chaos ensues.
Bath Operatic and Dramatic Society (BODS) has been entertaining the audiences of Bath since 1894 - when it was initially founded as Bath Amateurs – and is consequently considered one of the two oldest amateur dramatic societies in the country. Its heritage reveals a legacy of quality theatrical performances, played to audiences at a wealth of venues across the historic, beautiful hometown of Bath.
So come along this Autumn and enjoy BODS’ Noël Coward classic.
