SERCHIA is proud to present 'Marked by Light' our new exhibition as part of Bristol Photo Festival's 2024 Programme 'World a Wave'. Featuring works by Agnieszka Sosnowska, Giulia Vanelli, Kiowa Casey, and Yana Wernicke, we witness four contemporary artists that use photography to reach across the confines of time, connecting to the most central and cherished parts of their lives.

As part of SERCHIA's autumn programming for Bristol Photo Festival we have a constellation of events planned around our new exhibition 'Marked by Light'. Please join us for an evening of conversation with featured 'Marked by Light' artist Kiowa Casey moderated by Photographer and Senior Lecturer at UWE Clare Hewitt. Kiowa speaks to us about her work 'San Amado' made in homage to her mother who passed away in May 2023, San Amado is a navigation of distances, both conscious and unconscious, in order to maintain the relationship of mother and daughter. This project shows with sensitivity how lives ripple through time via non-spaces, calling on audiences to apply a shared empathy.

The conversation will be followed by a Q&A so that others may join in the conversation. Please join us in celebrating Kiowa's work, meeting the artist, and sharing a glimpse behind the motivations and process of creating her photographs featured in our first BPF exhibition, Marked by Light.
