As part of our monthly range of events, MIMMO Studios welcomes you to join us for a swapping event to celebrate the beauty of sharing.
Finding a way to extend the life of the clothes we wear is a great way to reduce our environmental impact.
The event will be hosted in our first floor gallery and event space.
How it works:
Bring up to 5 pieces of clothing with you from your wardrobe. Items which don't get worn or you've fallen out of love with.
1 item = 1 token
Browse our selection of items brought along by other attendees and use your tokens in exchange for something new (to you)!
What's the problem?
The average consumer now buys 60% more clothing than 15 years ago, and disposes of them much more quickly.
Only 1% of clothes are recycled to make new ones, 2 tonnes of clothes are bought in the UK each minute in the UK.
Each week in the UK, 11 million garments end up in landfill. If clothing stayed in active use for 9 months longer (to an average of 3 years), this could reduce the carbon and waste footprint by 20-30%
