Picasso and Matisse: Friends and Rivals
PICASSO AND MATISSE: FRIENDS AND RIVALS | BRISTOL

FEATURING ORIGINAL ARTWORKS BY TWO TITANS OF THE 20TH CENTURY

Throughout February, Hidden Bristol will be exhibiting original artworks by two of the most influential figures of the last century, Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Characterised by mutual respect and rivalry, the artists shared a dynamic relationship which not only evolved their individual outputs, but played a pivotal role in shaping the course of modern art.

The exhibition will include some of the artists’ most iconic images, including sought-after lithographs from one of the last portfolios produced by Matisse before his death, and a unique artist’s palette heavily coated with oil paint directly from Picasso’s estate. The artworks, which are available to buy, will be on display at the gallery located in the Clifton Arcade, just yards from Bristol’s world-famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am - 5pm, and from 11am - 4pm on Sundays.

To wrap up the 'Picasso and Matisse' exhibition, the team at Hidden Bristol would love you to join them for a glass of fizz on Saturday 2nd March from 1-4pm. The celebration will take place at the Bristol gallery located at Unit 6-8 The Clifton Arcade, Boyce's Avenue, Clifton, BS8 4AA.

To reserve a glass of fizz for yourself and any guests, RSVP by emailing  amy@hiddengallery.co.uk, or call 0117 279 6402.

Alongside the exhibition Hidden will show hand-signed works by many artists including Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Joan Miro, Tracey Emin and more.
