Pictures and Words

3 Nov - 30 Nov @ Hidden Gallery, Bristol [ Art & Design ]

Pictures and Words
From the 3rd of November to the 30th of November, the team at Hidden Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Bristol, are exhibiting an exceptional selection of artworks exploring the relationship between image and text. This collection includes original prints, tapestries, and exhibition posters by household names such as Pablo Picasso, Grayson Perry, David Hockney and many more!

‘The art of language and how it is written is responsible for some of the most expressive artworks of all time’ said Amy Hampshire, Senior Manager of Hidden’s Bristol Gallery. Many major artists of the modern and contemporary period have harnessed the power of words through their art; Hidden are delighted to be bringing some of the finest examples of these artists’ works to our Bristol Gallery. The artworks, which are available to buy, will be on display in our gallery located in the heart of Clifton Village, in the gorgeous Clifton Arcade on Boyce’s Avenue.

Highlights of the exhibition include a hand-signed Roy Lichtenstein poster from the 1993 retrospective exhibition at The Guggenheim, a handmade appliqué flag created by Grayson Perry for his 2017 exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery, and signed limited-edition prints from the Connor Brothers' dark humoured 'Uncensored' series.

Alongside our featured artists, Hidden will be exhibiting original artworks and hand-signed pieces by many household names including Henri Matisse, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, and more.
