The first site from the national Heal Rewilding project. An organisation set on acquiring and returning to nature lands across the UK. The Somerset site only began its recovery from its ecologically depleted state at the beginning of 2023, so it's not yet teeming with life - but it's a beautiful, peaceful and restorative place to be, now waiting for wildlife to return in abundance.
The site is in a very quiet rural area and it's possible to visit for the day, camp or attend events run by the team.
Heal runs a variety of events which cover three main areas - rewilding, climate change and wellbeing. Designed to be engaging and educational, these events include tours of Heal Somerset, talks, workshops and much more!
Income from events goes into supporting the work which means that when you book onto one an event you're directly helping achieve the goal of restoring nature in England through rewilding.
