Located in Bruton, Somerset, FEIN Collections [made in new york city] is privileged to announce its upcoming solo exhibit, ‘Nostalgia/Commitments’ with new one-of-a-kind works by featured artist John Klukas. The exhibit will be open from 13th of April – with a celebratory evening to meet the artist on the 12th of April – through the 31st of May 2025.
John Klukas is an internationally renowned Artist and Photographer: His work has appeared in a range of Art and editorial publications as varied as Fabrik and S Magazine and he has held solo exhibitions around the world from the United States to Japan. Among his many accolades, his work was recently shortlisted for the Visual Arts Association Awards London 2024, the only photographer to be shortlisted for the Artist of the Year Award.
‘Nostalgia/Commitments’ is a stunning exhibit of new works by the artist solely for the Bruton, Somerset FEIN Collections venue. Klukas’ new works explore notions of time, memory and the discrete states we inhabit from one moment to the next. Combining elements of photography, painting and collage, Klukas draws upon his own understanding of the iterative nature of the self to construct a non-linear narrative documenting the journey from moment-to-moment and from occurrence to eventuality. Building upon his previous bodies of work investigating cycles of death, rebirth and transformation, he approaches this current body of work with special attention given to examining interior worlds as manifested in dreams and visions.
There will be an Artist’s Talk on the evening of 11th April (RSVP only). The exhibit’s celebratory opening will be the evening of the 12th of April 2025. The artist will be in attendance with his wife New and baby daughter Mali from their home in Bangkok, Thailand. Klukas splits his time between Thailand and New York City.
Bringing together diverse works from seven contemporary artists from around the world, FEIN Collections contributes further to Bruton’s reputation as a hub for the visual and plastic arts. FEIN looks forward to promoting each artist’s individual and unique methods and talents through its Bruton gallery and beyond.
