Experience a day of artistic immersion and nature-inspired creativity at Caisson Gardens. Our exclusive workshop invites you to explore the serene beauty of our picturesque gardens and woodlands.

After a delicious, light vegetarian lunch, shared amongst fellow participants, transition to our wonderful workshop space for an afternoon of botanical printmaking. Learn the techniques of creating exquisite prints that reflect the essence of nature’s beauty, using your morning sketches as inspiration. Experiment with various printing methods, colours, and textures to craft your own unique series of botanical prints, each a testament to the splendour of Caisson Gardens. You might want to do some forward planning and make a series of unique Christmas cards for your nearest and dearest!

Complete the day with a reflective session, sharing insights and admiring the diverse artwork created throughout the workshop. Join us for a memorable journey of inspiration, discovery, and artistic expression amidst the natural splendour of Caisson Gardens.

Timings for the day

Indulge in a day of creative exploration amidst the picturesque setting of Caisson Gardens with our exclusive workshop experience.

10am- 12.30pm – Walk and Drawing

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Caisson Gardens during a guided walk through its serene gardens and enchanting woodlands. Led by Jemma, engage in drawing activities inspired by the botanical wonders that abound, capturing the intricate details of flowers, foliage, and wildlife. 12:30-1:30pm – Lunch

Included is a delightful vegetarian lunch with produce from the garden, shared with fellow participants, amidst the peaceful surroundings of Caisson Gardens. (Do let us know your dietary requirements on the booking form) 1:30-3:30pm – Botanical Printmaking

Transition to our wonderful workshop space, where you’ll explore the art of botanical printmaking. Experiment with various printing techniques, colours, and textures to craft a unique series of botanical prints, each a testament to the splendour of Caisson Gardens. 3:30-4pm -Clean up and debrief with tea and homemade cake

Come together for a reflective session, sharing insights, experiences, and the artwork created throughout the day. Revel in the sense of accomplishment as you admire the diverse botanical prints and handmade cards crafted by fellow participants, celebrating the shared journey of creativity and connection. Sketch books, drawing, printmaking materials and aprons will be provided.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear (old clothing is great).

Performers, Hosts & Artists

Guided by artist printmaker Jemma Gunning.

Jemma Gunning is an award-winning printmaker known for her intricate and evocative intaglio prints. Her work, characterised by themes of decay, changing environments and the passage of time, highlights the beauty in imperfection and overlooked details. With years of experience and numerous exhibitions, Jemma brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her teaching, inspiring students to explore the depths of intaglio printmaking. Jemma is an elected member of the Royal Society of Painter printmakers (RE) and is a Royal West of England Academician (RWA). Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, earning her a reputation as a significant voice in contemporary printmaking.
