Volunteer Tree Planting with the Forest of Avon: Bristol

14 Feb, 10am - 3pm @ Bristol City [ Environment & Social Causes , Outdoor & Nature ]

Volunteer Tree Planting @ Bristol
In Iwood, Bristol, BS40

We need help planting trees to create the native, broadleaved woodlands of the future.

As part of our Trees for Climate fund, we will be planting throughout the winter across Bristol, Bath, North East Somerset and South Glos.

Volunteering at this site will include the planting of wood pasture trees adjacent to the Little Avon River. This will increase the diversity of the site and provide essential habitat connectivity close to Lower Woods.

These are large trees with sturdy metal cages so a good level of physical fitness is needed.

All tools will be provided, including gloves. You will need to bring sturdy shoes, weather appropriate clothing and your lunch.

Exact location, meeting point and parking information will be sent upon signing up. Volunteers will need to organise their own transport to site. We encourage lift sharing where possible.

Connecting with nature and spending time in green spaces has proven benefits to our mental wellbeing and physical health. Our volunteer days are the perfect way to enjoy the many benefits of spending time outdoors, while giving back to nature and feeling the satisfaction of helping your local area to become a little bit greener.
